2.12 Install Ubuntu 9.04 on maintaining computer Win XP

From 23 April 2009, Canonical has released Ubuntu 9.04 Linux , Codenamed Jaunty Jackalope.

Segnalo la possibilità di montare prima del processo un secondo hard disck sul vostro computer, in questo caso non serve partizionare; ogni sistema operativo avrà il suo hard disk dedicato.

Se scegliete di usare un solo hard disck partizionato questa operazione può essere gestita automaticamente da Ubuntu. Per gli utenti più esperti è comunque sempre possibile gestire la partizione manualmente con comandi da tastiera.


Se vi compaiono informazioni sui file di SWAP presenti/assenti non preoccupatevi, per l'utente comune non è essenziale approfondire questo punto, proseguite pure.

Terminata la fase di partizione vi chiederà il vostro nome, il nome utente da utilizzare sul computer, la password (attenti a non scordare questi dati, rischiate di dover rifare tutto), il nome del PC e se accedere in automatico al sistema.

Se avete scelto due sistemi operativi vi chiederà se desiderate importare alcune impostazioni da windows, fate a vostro gusto non c'è problema.

A questo punto comparirà una schermata con un breve sommario e il titolo " Pronto per l'istallazione "
Confermate con " Installa "... e lasciatelo lavorare, ci vorrà parecchio tempo (indicativamente il tempo di preparare due spaghetti aglio/olio/peperoncino)

Dopo parecchio lavorio comparirà la schermata che vi conferma l'installazione

Togliete il CD d'installazione e riavviate la macchina.

Se avete scelto due sistemi operativi al riavvio ci troveremo la possibilita' di scegliere su usare Ubuntu o Windows. (scelta da tastiera con freccia sù - freccia giù e Invio).
